On August 12, Make-Up Designer/Actor Rod Voltaire Edora*, assisted by costumer Christina Weiland, introduced the CATS cast to their intricate make-up routines. Using Todd Schlader (who plays Plato) as a model, Rod demonstrated a number of techniques. Each actor had a unique make-up diagram to follow, and over the course of about 90 minutes, a room full of humans transformed into a room full of cats!

Rod prepares the colors while Todd looks at the make-up plot for his character on an iPad.

First, the white areas are filled in with makeup applied with a sponge.

The nose is carefully drawn in. (Don't look like a dog!)

Cat eyes and eyebrows.

And a mouth.

Colors on the face need to blend with the colors of the wig.

Makeup complete.

Time for the wig.

Notice how it comes together.

And Todd is now a cat!
