In "Hairspray," the role of Edna Turnblad, Tracy's mother, is always played by a man. At Woodminster, Edna is played by great character actor Greg Carlson, who has delighted our audiences for many years in roles like the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz and Horton in Seussical. On this page, see his transformation, with the help of actor/makeup artist Rod Voltaire Edora and costumer Alison Morris. At the bottom of the page, transformation complete, Greg poses as Edna with fellow actor Ken Bullock, who is playing Wilbur Turnblad.
