The Music Man is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. MTI's description of the show:

An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

Read the Reviews! The Critics love The Music Man!

"Meredith Willson's homage to small-town, Midwestern America, languid summer nights and the all-purpose power of love, feels right at home playing amid the Oakland Hills redwoods. Even on a chilly night, the 1958 musical is able to cast its warm spell over the audience at Woodminster Amphitheater. . . remarkably well-wrought production..." -- Pat Craig, Bay Area News Group
