Annie Oakley supports her younger siblings by hunting and selling the game she shoots. When she's discovered by the famous Colonel Buffalo Bill, he convinces her that she should use her shooting skills in show business, specifically by performing in his Wild West Show. There, she meets and falls head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler. The romance between the two sharpshooters, and the competition between them, makes for a melodic and lively show.
